Andhra University Affiliated Colleges 6 Colleges Found

The combined Colleges of Arts, Science and Technology was established in the year 1931-32 with Padmabhushan Mamidipudi Venkata Rangayya as the Founder Principal. Afterwards the College of Arts & Commerce was carved out from the combined colleges in the year 1966.

The College of Science & Technology was started in the year 1931 as the combined Colleges of Arts, Science and Technology and Sri. M.Venkata Rangaiah was the first Principal succeeded by many great persons like Prof.S.Bhagavantham, Prof.V.S.Krishna and Prof.K.Rangadhama Rao.

Andhra University College of Engineering-Autonomous (AUCE (A)) had its beginnings in the Composite Madras State before Independence, in 1946. However, the seeds of technical education on Andhra University Campus had been soon in 1933 itself with the inception of Sugar Technology, the present Department of Chemical Engineering.

Andhra University is the second institute in the country to start pharmacy courses at University level in 1937. The pharmacy courses were initially offered in the B.Sc. Honours degree of chemical technology and as a specialization at M.Sc. Chemical Technology level.

Law College was established in Andhra University in 1945 in order to meet a long felt need for a College of Law in this part of the country, which was then a part of the province of Madras.

With growing importance for quality legal education, various national law schools acquired lot of importance. To meet the requirements of students of this State, the Government of Andhra Pradesh decided to establish a new Law University and as per the decision of the Council of Ministers meeting held on 30-06-2008 the Governor of Andhra Pradesh promulgated the Andhra Pradesh University of Law Ordinance, 2008 on 8th July 2008.
