Staff Selection Commission is an organization under the government of India to recruit staffs for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the Government of India.
SSC CPO or Central police Organization is an open exam for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police , Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub Inspectors in CISF. Candidates before applying must check whether they meet the physical standards set by the government.Candidates shortlisted after written examination must also go through physical endurance test and medical examination before the final selection.
SSC CPO notification will be available in the official website of SSC www.ssc.nic.in.SSC CPO notification for the current year 2017 is out in the official website. The notification will have all the details needed for the candidate namely the eligibility, age limit, educational qualification, no: of vacancies etc.Within a month of notification, SSC will start inviting applications for the post of SSC CPO through online mode
SSC CPO applications are invited through online mode only. Candidates must carefully fill the details in the different pages. During the submission of the form SSC will ask for biometric data where it has to be uploaded with certain measurements. At the end of submitting the form candidate must pay the fee if required.
Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs : (Central Armed Police Forces) The post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35400-112400/-) and is classified as Group ‘B’ (NonGazetted), Non-Ministerial.
Sub Inspector (Executive) - (Male/ Female) in Delhi Police: The post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35400-112400/-) and is classified as Group ‘C’(NonGazetted) by Delhi Police.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (Executive) in CISF: The post carries pay scale of Level-5 (Rs.29200-92300) and is classified as Group ‘C’ (Non Gazetted).
Candidate applying for the post must be between 20 to 25 yrs .
Candidate applying for the post of SSC CPO must be a graduate from a recognized university or its equivalent degree.

Mode of payment of fee payable Rs. 100/-(Rupees One Hundred only)can be paid through SBI challan or Net Banking.. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons with disability and Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the fee.
SSC CPO consists of two papers.Paper I and Paper II.Paper I is a objective type based exam for 200 marks and 2hrs.Paper II examination is of pen/paper mode for 200 marks.Paper II is only of qualifying nature.If the candidate secures enough marks for Paper I and Paper II then the person will be shortlisted for Physical Endurance Test.Physical Endurance Test/PET is mandatory for all the candidates applying for SSC CPO.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern-folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern- folding and completion, Indexing Address matching, Date & city matching Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other subtopics if any
General Awareness : Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc.
Quantitative Aptitude : The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centers, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle , Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart
English Comprehension: Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested
English Language & Comprehension :Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.
Physical Endurance Test
The candidate short listed after the performance in papers of I and II will be taken for the medical examination/Physical Endurance Test. The PET/medical examination is mandatory for all the posts. The physical standards of the test are clearly mentioned in the notification of SSC CPO.
