Bharata Mata College is a nationally accredited first grade arts and science co-educational institution of higher learning in the aided sector, under Bharata Mata Educational Trust owned and managed by the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly. Established in 1965 by His Eminence the late Joseph Cardinal Parecattil, the college is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The college was included under section 2 (f) and 12 (b) of UGC Act 1956 in 1976 and accredited at the A level by NAA

Founded in 1950, St. Thomas College, Pala has to its credit more than 60years of distinguished, service in the field of higher education in the state of Kerala sending out many graduate maxima cum laude to carve out their destinies in diverse spheres. The idea of establishing an arts and science college at Pala had been dormant for a long time in the minds of the Roman Catholic community of the area.

Crowning a hillock in majestic splendour and set against a lush verdant backdrop, St. Stephen's College is the pride of Uzhavoor. The college which belongs to the Diocese of Kottayam (Knanaya Catholic Community) is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University.

Named after the patron saint of the local catholic parish, the college was started in the year 1965 under the patronage of Rt.Rev.Dr.Sebastian Vayalil, the First Bishop of Pala. Very Rev. Fr. Thomas Manakkatt, the then Vicar of St. George Forane Church, Aruvithura, Rev. Fr. Thomas Araythinal, Mr. T.A. Thomman and a host of philanthropists in and around Aruvithura have played a very crucial role in the founding and later in the growth and development of this great seat of learning.

The College is named after our heavenly Patron, Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the Co-founder of the Congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), is our source of inspiration. His glorious vision of moulding new generation through education deeply rooted in the faith in God and love of humanity, is taken up by our institutions and we take pride in discharging this noble responsibility.

Assumption College, Changanacherry, was founded in 1950 by the Archdiocese of Changanacherry with the specific objective of empowering women through higher education. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The college has the reputation of being one of the leading colleges for women in Kerala imparting value based education catering to the ever changing needs of the educational sector.
