An air hostess/steward is a flight attendant on airlines to take care of the passengers. The job of an air hostess /steward is mainly the safety of the passengers. The crew is also supposed to take care of the need of the passengers such as to serve the meals and to help them in emergency .An airhostess must have excellent communication skills and patience to deal with the passengers on board .The person must also know a foreign language to converse with the passengers.
You can train to be a air hostess from an air hostess training institute .There are many certified institutions in India such as the Frankfinn Institute, Wings Airhostess and Hospitality Training , Air hostess Academy ,Bangalore etc after training they will have placement cells where they will be placed in various National and International Airlines. The general course duration of airhostess training is 6 – 12 months .Other than the training the students must have certain fitness to train as an airhostess. There are prescribed height and weight measurements for each airlines.
The stewards and the air hostess are collectively called as the cabin crew of the aero plane. Conditions are same for men also. Now there are many men opting for the flight steward career due to its exposure and lucrative career. Placements are provided by the placement cells of each institute.
To become a Air hostess/Steward one must have completed 12th std in any stream or graduation in any subject.

An air hostess will work as a flight attendant and then after years of experience they can work as a head attendant .An airhostess can only work the maximum for 10 yrs and after that they can either move to ground duty or the administration field. Experienced flight attendants can train the upcoming flight attendants in training institutes.
The salary of an air hostess will be between Rs 1, 00,000 to Rs 2, 00,000 in International airlines and Rs 50,000-Rs 60,000 in domestic airlines.
