An ayurvedic doctor is a person is person who is qualified doctor in ayurveda. He treats a human body with ayurvedic medicines and other traditional practices. Ayurvedic medicine has its roots in the Indian sub contitent . Due to the absence of side effects , ayurveda is now known and practiced all over the world. An Ayurvedica doctor studies on herbal medicines only. They prepare medicines with herbal plants .They do treatments that have been practiced by the sages of India . Ayurvedic treatment is revolving around the five main elements such as the air, fire, water, space and earth.
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery(BAMS) is an integrated Indian Degree in the medical field This degree programme is conferred to those students who studied the modern medicines and traditional Ayurveda. Ayurveda is one of the ancient medical systems of the world. It traces its roots to the Vedic period. It is not only providing the cure but also prevent the recurrence of diseases. According to the Ayurvedic, there are only three kinds of dysfunctions or disorders in human body Kapha, Pitta and Vata.
Ayurveda is seen as one of the alternative careers of the world. Ayurveda was once put in the back stage due to its low pace in healing diseases. But the world after seeing the aftereffects of the allopathic medicines has totally moved from allopathic medicines to ayurvedic medicines . The Indian government supports research and teaching in Ayurveda through many channels at both the national and state levels. The aspirants must pass the premedical test conducted by the Medical Council of India. Besides passing the pre medical test one must also have studied physics , chemistry ,mathematics and biology for their 12th std passed with a minimum marks of 60% .
Step 1 To be an ayurvedic doctor one must have passed the pre medical test conducted by the Medical Council of India.
Step 2 The duration of the course BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is for five years.
An ayurvedic doctor can work as medical practitioners in government hospitals, ayurvedic hospitals , and recreational centers. An ayurvedic doctor can start his or her won recreational centres with diagnosis and treatment along with aurvedic spas . Ayurvedic spa’s are a touristic attraction.
The salary of an ayurvedic doctor will depend upon the academic qualifications and experience. At the entry level one can get a starting salary of Rs 25,000-Rs 30,000 per month .
