A bio medical engineer is an engineer who engineers machines that are essential for medical and medical treatments. It is a type of engineering moulded for medical science. The machines engineered by a bio medical engineer are used from diagnosis to recovery ,some of them used are X ray machines ,MRI scans , Heart Lung machine ,pace makers ,ventilators etc. They help in the development of medical science by innovating techniques that can cure diseases with the least human intervention. Bio medical engineers can also manufacture robots and machines which can go inside the body of the humans and can work just like a human hand. Bio medical engineering focuses to mainly help the humanity achieve its best in curing diseases through engineering.
It is an engineering which widely differs from other forms of discipline ,this is very much dependent on human health .The other forms of engineering is purely mechanical and it does not serve needs to human health as much of bio medical engineering. There are also many sub disciplines related to bio-medical engineering which focuses on each disciplines such as pace makers, MRI scans , robotics etc. Rather than working with the machines they can also work with stem and stem cell technology .Some of the objects they make are new implantable and external devices such as pacemakers, coronary stents, orthopedic implants, prosthetics, dental products, and ambulatory devices.
A bio medical engineer can get employed in hospitals. They are also needed in medical and scientific schools. There are also bio medical engineers who work as entrepreneurs and start a new company that produce machines.
To be a Bio -Medical engineer you must pass 12th std with (PCB) and with a minimum marks of 60% and must have passed the engineering entrance.
Step 1 After you pass the engineering entrance you must join a good college for bio-medical engineering and the course is for 4 yrs.

The remuneration of a bio-medical engineer will range from Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 in the initial stage. Career in renowned companies will give them a much better package than any other engineers from any discipline.
