Commercial Pilot Career

A commercial pilot flies planes which can be private at the same time public. They fly aero planes after attaining the commercial pilot license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Once they attain the license then they can start flying charter flights and aero planes.

A commercial pilot can only fly an aero plane after attaining the commercial pilot license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) .Only a student who has received the license from DGCA can be a commercial pilot anywhere. To become a commercial pilot one must have studied 12 std with science with Physics and Mathematics or you can attain your qualification of Science subjects by joining the National Institute of Open Schooling in which the certificates are valid just like CBSE, ICSE AND State syllabus.

You can become a commercial pilot by clearing the written exam conducted by DGCA  and by clearing the Medical fitness certificate from AFCME .If you pass both the tests then you can join a flying club in anywhere in India and can train to be a pilot . You must have 250 hrs of flying time to be eligible to get the Commercial Pilot License. 

Commercial Pilot Eligibility

To get the Commercial Pilot License one must pass the exam conducted by DGCA and must pass the medical fitness exam conducted by AFCME. To write these exams one must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the plus two level or can learn it from the National Institute of Open Schooling.

Commercial Pilot Recruitment Process

Step 1 To  receive Commercial Pilot License one must have studied science subjects in 12 std .

Step 2 If you have a minimum of 50% for your 12th std with Science subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics then you can join a flying club after passing the required written tests, Pilot aptitude tests and Medical tests of the respective institute.

Step 3 You will only get the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) after clearing the DGCA exam and by clearing the medical test by AFCME (Air Force Central Medical Establishment).

Commercial Pilot Career Prospects

A person with a commercial pilot license can fly airlines and charter flights. They can use charter flights for personal purpose and for crop dusting. On the board they will be known as the first officer and with seniority they will be known as the commander .The seniority of the pilot is determined by the hours of flying experience. 

Commercial Pilot Salary

The salary of a pilot with commercial pilot license will earn up to 2 lakhs in the starting years. After a few years they can earn a monthly payment of Rs 5-Rs 6 lakhs .The salary will also depend upon the airlines you are working at. Salary is also high when the seniority of a pilot is higher.It is most highly paid job in India at the same time it the course also costs more than 30 – 35 lakhs.
