Hematologist Career

Hematologists focus on lymphatic organs and bone marrow and irregularities in blood count. In the medical field, hematology includes the treatment of blood disorders and malignancies, including types of hemophilia, leukemia, and lymphoma and sickle-cell anemia. Hematology is a branch of internal medicine that deals with the physiology, pathology, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood-related disorders. Hematologists treat organs that are fed by blood cells, including the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus and lymphoid tissue.

Physicians working in the field of hematology are called hematologists .Hematologists study for three more years after MBBS to earn the degree. Thereafter, they spend two or three more years learning how to diagnose and treat blood disorders. They mainly learn about the cause of abnormalities in blood formation and other blood disorders. The diagnosis of various blood related disorders and cancers will be studied using laboratory tests and workups. The care and treatment of patients with blood diseases or hematological diseases.

Hematologist Eligibility

The student must pass 12th std with major subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology to write the NEET exam (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). NEET exam will determine the eligibility of a person to pursue MBBS course.

Hematologist Recruitment Process

Step 1 Enroll for MBBS course in a recognized Medical college after passing NEET medical entrance exam.

Step 2 After finishing the course , pass the NEET PG medical entrance for Hematology

Step 3 Complete the three years long MD Course in Hematology
