Open Guide – Women was inducted into the army as doctors and nurses only .But now women are commissioned as officers in the army.Now it has been also decided to give combat roles for women in the army.Women have broken all the barriers now they are now in all the fields of proffession breaking the norm yes women can have it all.Details have been provided below under the article the procedure to apply for posts for women.
1) Short Service Commission for Non- technical women
Age Limit- 19 – 25 yrs
Eligibility – Graduation from a recognized University
Possible dates for Notification – July and November
2) NCC SPL entry for Women
Training is provided to the candidates for 49 weeks in the Officers Training Academy, Chennai
Age Limit – 19 – 25 yrs
Eligibility – Graduation from a recognized university with 50% aggregate .Two years senior in NCC senior div army with minimum ‘B’ grade in ‘C’ certificate exam.
Possible dates for notification- June and December
3) SSCW (JAG)
Training is provided to the candidates for 49 weeks in the Officers Training Academy, Chennai
Age Limit- 19 – 27 yrs
Eligibility – Graduation in Law
Possible dates for notification –July/Aug and Jan/Feb
4) Short Service Women(Technical)Entries Women
Training is provided to the candidates for 49 weeks in the Officers Training Academy, Chennai
Age Limit – 19 – 27 yrs
Eligibility –Engineering from a notified University
Possible Dates for Notification – June/July and December/Jan
