Chanakya Pratiyogita Academy was set up 2004 with vision that aimed at bridging the rural and urban disparities in the availability of facilities for quality coaching for premier administrative services like the IAS and the PCS. The coaching classes are available for all stages of civil Services examinations, such as IAS and PCS and prepare student for Prelims, Mains and Interview round. The Academy also offers coaching for UGC (NET), banking and other competitive examination.

The Academy, previously known as the Police Training College, was renamed as Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Police Academy, Uttar Pradesh, Moradabad on 6th April 1997 after the name of the Bharat Ratna recipient Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, an eminent jurist, social reformer and the architect of the Indian Constitution.
