Lieutenant General PGK Menon appointed as new Military Secretary in Army Headquarters
Lieutenant General PGK Menon has been appointed as the new Military Secretary in the Army Headquarters. He was previously serving as the commander of the Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps.
The Military Secretary is one of the Principal Staff Officers of the Chief of Army Staff. The role of the Military Secretary is being responsible for promotions and postings of the entire officer cadre of the Indian Army.
G Balasubramaniam is next High Commissioner of India to Nigeria
The Ministry of External Affairs announced on January 27, 2022, that G Balasubramaniam has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Nigeria. Balasubramaniam has been currently serving as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs. G Balasubramaniam is expected to take up his latest assignment shortly.
Sidharth Chattopadhyaya appointed as the Director-General of Police, Punjab
The Government of Punjab has appointed Sidharth Chattopadhyaya as the Director-General of Police, Punjab. He has replaced IPS Iqbal Preet Sahota from the position. As per the notification, Chattopadhyaya will look after the work of the Director-General of Police until a fresh appointment is made.
