The Cochin College was founded on July 15, 1967, in response to an increasing demand for higher education opportunities in West Kochi. The College symbolises the hopes and aspirations of the public of Kochi and is a milestone in the history of the commercial town of Kochi. From its humble beginning as a Junior College in 1967, the institution slowly and steadily grew into a post-graduate college in 1995.The college was accredited with B+ by the NAAC in 2003 and re-accredited with B Grade (2.85)

Deva Matha College, Kuravilangad, was founded on 3rd April 1964 under the inspiration of the Catholic Diocese of Palai by St. Mary’s Forane Church, Kuravilangad. The parish, St. Mary’s Forane Church, Kuravilangad, has etched her name in the academia of Kerala by establishing two High Schools and two LP schools in the latter half of the 18th century and a Higher Secondary School in 1998.
