Inter Banking & Personnel Selection or IBPS isautonomous body which helps banks,Insurance agencies and few cooperative banks to recruit its employees after tiers of examination.IBPS conducts examination in online mode in two parts : Prelims and Mains Examination.After the mains examination selected candidates are given direct appointment for clerks as the interview had been taken out for Clerical examination.
IBPS Clerk is a multiple choice based exam conducted to select clerks for public sector banks in India.It is conducted every year in different examination centers held all over the country. IBPS Exam is conducted in two parts
i)Preliminary Examination
Preliminary Exam consists of 3 sections for a maximum mark of 100.Each section has a cut off decided by IBPS and only candidates who have secured the sectional cut off will be eligible for mains examination.

ii)Mains Examination
Mains examination consists of 5 sections.Each section is ordered and timed acording to the new pattern.The candidates cannot chose his discretion of section as they are timed and it will start and close according to the timer set for each section.

There will be negative marking for each wrong answers.For one wrong question .25 marks will be deducted for IBPS Prelims exam.

An IBPS clerk will get a salary of Rs 19,589 in hand after DA,TA and Special allowance.Therefore its is a wonderful oppurchunity for the students aspiring for a career in Banks.
IBPS has not released its notification for the year 2017-18 but it has released its calendar which includes all the dates of IBPS exams including prelims and mains. It will publish the notification in the months of July and August.But it has issued the dates of the examination one year prior due to the stiff competition and high cut off among students.The preliminaries will be held in the month of December as per the Calendar released by the IBPS.
IBPS has issued the calendar on 16th of January for giving the students ample time for this years IBPS clerk recruitment.
