The Cochin College was founded on July 15, 1967, in response to an increasing demand for higher education opportunities in West Kochi. The College symbolises the hopes and aspirations of the public of Kochi and is a milestone in the history of the commercial town of Kochi. From its humble beginning as a Junior College in 1967, the institution slowly and steadily grew into a post-graduate college in 1995.The college was accredited with B+ by the NAAC in 2003 and re-accredited with B Grade (2.85) in 2012.
The College envisages the intellectual development, moral uprightness, social commitment, cultural refinement, spiritual enlightenment and emotional maturity of the future generation.
