Govt. Degree College was started in 1983-84 academic year with B.A., B.Com courses. In 1990-91 restructured course was started with history, Computer science & Economics. For this course the candidate had to pay Rs.3000/- at the time of admission. Afterwords the students were unable to pay the restructured fees. However in course of time this combination was discontinued. In 2007-08 B.Sc course with MPC & BZF was started. At present the student strength is 441 in which more than 90% of students are scheduled Tribes. JKc is running successfully from November, 2010.
This college was established on the need based of the marginalized groups of the society, above 80% of the students are belonging to S.T category and, more than 60% of the students are girls. The central idea of the establishment of this college is to promote the students in self-discipline, self confidence, self-realization and self- employability through curriculum extension activities and Student support activities like JKC.
It is a proposal by the local people and the well wishers of the college development is to start B.Sc., course i.e. M.P.Cs & B.Z.C.,. In this connection I try my level best to take measures to open the B.Sc., courses very soon.
Aim & Objectives
To respect the constitution, its ideals, the national flag and national anthem.
To provide value based education by inculcating the basic moral values in the minds of the students through Yoga, Red-cross and NSS programs.
To motivate the students face current challenges of present living by providing career guidance and career oriented programs.
To facilitate equal access to socially and economically disadvantaged groups to higher education.
To provide counseling and career guidance to move them self-employable.
To promote more participation of women in higher education through extension programme in the Tribal and remote hilly areas of the surroundings to bridge the quality gap between the Tribal agency and urban students.
