The Government First Grade College, Kudur is located at Kudur, a Hobli, Head Quarter in Magadi Taluk of Ramanagaram District. This College being first of its kind for Kudur and surrounding villages was established during 1992 by Government of Karnataka vide order no:ED 47 UDC 92 Dated: 6-7-1992 under the administrative control of the Directorate of Collegiate Education. The Vision of the Government was to impart Higher education to rural backward and under privileged students and to change rural generation to changing global needs.
Kudur is 22 K.m from Magadi well known Sri Kempegowda who constructed Bendakaluru the present Bangalore City. Kudur is a historical place formerly known as byravana durga/turaga pura/ kudur the place, where military horses were bred (horse in kannada is kudure)
The College was started with 33 Students at the neigh bouring Government Junior College for BA Course with HEP combination and Affiliated to Bangalore university. The College was shifted to own premises during 2001 after two rooms constructed by MP Grant and four rooms by the Donors. The college is named as “Smt. Neelamma Kudur K.A Sathyanarayana Setty Government First Grade College”
