Henry Baker College Melukavu, is a Christian Minority Educational Institution established, owned and administered by C.S.I East Kerala Diocese, registered as Henry Baker College Educational Society (Reg.No.K. 1056/99 dtd. 22-09-1999). The college is named after Rev. Henry Baker Jr., the pioneering CMS missionary.The College is located in a rural and tribal village Melukavu.
The college was founded in 1981 by the C.S.I. Madhya Kerala Diocese providing two year Pre-Degree course of Kerala University; upgraded with UG Programme in 1991 and became a first grade college in 1999 and later on permanently affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The college is now included under 2(F) & 12 (B) of the UGC Act
To liberate young men & women from the darkness of ignorance to the dawn of knowledge and wisdom; the ultimate goal of education by which character is formed, strength of mind increased and intellect expanded and hence forth equipping them to face the challenges of present day and lead them to a happy and contended life and to help them identify their role in nation building.
