Karnatak Arts, Science and Commerce College, Bdiar is one among 26 educational institutions being run by Karnatak Rashtriya Education Society Bidar. This is the oldest and biggest society of Bidar district established in the year 1942. It is striving hard to provide quality education at affordable cost to the deserving persons of this backward area.
Karnatak Arts, Science and Commerce College, Bidar is the biggest learning hub of Bidar district, which is located in the Northern tip of Karnataka State. Although a number of colleges have come up late in different parts of the district, yet this institution has been drawing the students from every corner, because it offers spectrum of courses which are not available in newly established colleges. It attracts the students irrespective of gender, geographical location, social & economic strata. Every year more than 2000 students are being enrolled in various disciplines exhibiting a typical example of multi-disciplinary co-educational institute with four UG and six PG courses. In parallel, college has been running MPhil, PhD programmes in Kannada and Computer Science. Besides formal education, college imparts skill based and job oriented courses at U.G level in the form of UGC sponsored add-on Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma Courses. UGC sponsored NET/SET coaching classes are being conducted. Off course, we have been part of backward area; however, we have association with repute Indian institutes such as Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Mumbai, NSDC and using MIT and NPTL study materials to deliver quality education. Our Endeavour is to take Higher Education out of traditional contours and make it more job and market oriented, accessible to all segments of society, ensuring gender equity and increasing the rate of employability by establishing academia –industry linkage in line with the market demand. Our efforts for expansion and modernization of existing infrastructure for UG & PG courses are going on in respect of up-gradation of laboratories, library, and smart-class rooms. The college has undertaken number of Minor and Major research projects sponsored by UGC and consecutively publishing quality research articles in collaboration with International and National academic bodies.
Academic ambience, adequate infrastructure, well equipped labs, smart class rooms, a Library with 56,000 volumes of books, Digital Library, Audio Visual room, Language Lab., Extra-Curricular, Co-Curricular, Sports activities, safe and secure environment have made UGC authorities to award the status of COLLEGE WITH POTENTIAL FOR EXCELLENCE and NAAC Re-Accreditation at Level ‘A’ with CGPA 3.05. The pursuit of excellence is tough but not impossible.
