M.E.S Ponnani College stands as the beacon of higher education, which steers academically browbeaten environs in its voyage towards knowledge. Started in 1968, the college could stride myriad rungs of feats and escalations in this elfin span of time. Being the only higher education centre situated between Tirur and Guruvayoor in the coastal belt of Malappuram district, the college has set out a great voyage to lead a community, which was ensnared in the whirlpool of ignorance and had plunked in to the unfathomable trench of neglect, to the green shores of learning. Ponnani of long-gone era had been known as ‘the seat of learning’ but lost it glory as time elapsed. With the inception of this abode of knowledge, Ponnani awoke vigorously from its deep slumber and set out in search for new meadows of opulence, bidding farewell to the decades of stagnation and benumb. This shrine of knowledge has engraved a saga of success on the educational pamphlet of Malappuram district. Stretching in over 25 sq. km., the college now offers 9 UG, 6 PG and 2 Ph.D. programmes and its endeavors towards excellence were crowned with success when it was re-accredited with ‘A’ grade in the NAAC inspection held in 2012.
