The M.I.E.T. Arts college was established by the Mohammed Institute of Education and Technology Society Tiruchirappalli in the year 1994, a society registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975, at the initiative of Alhaj A. Mohamed Yunus, an industrialist-cum-educationist as founder secretary and Alhaj S.M. Hassan Mohamed, a Philanthropist as the founder president, with an objective to serve the cause of higher education. The college is affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. It is recognized as a Muslim Minority Institution under the constitutions of India.
In a short span of time, the college has registered a good track record of academic performance. It constantly strives to reach better standards of teaching for effective student learning. It carries out several co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for developing life skills in students and offers useful placement services. The college has well laid hostels inside the campus for both girls and boys.
Most of our students belong to minority community and rural places. College buses are operated in and around the city and nearby villages, we also provide free bus facility for girl students in order to promote women education. More than 60% of our students are from rural background and have studied in government schools, our college fees structure is very affordable for them to continue their higher studies.
We provide a very special platform for school students to show their artistic and literary talents. SARAL inter school competitions were conducted every year in order to explore the knowledge of school children and thereby inducing them to choose their field in higher education. To motivate we award them with prizes and certificates.
To Exhibit the scientific knowledge and technical talents of the school students MIETY EXPO the science exhibition was conducted every year. Many schools in and around our college actively participate and exhibits their models. Best and innovative models which express social awareness and current affairs grab prizes and certificates.
Apart from studies, every year we conduct Intra Collegiate competitions for various department in order to explore and exhibit the multiple talents in technical and fine arts competitions of our students and prizes were awarded to the winners. This lead a hand to them to participate in range of competitions and programmes conducted by various colleges.
