PMSA Pookoya Thangal Memorial Arts & Science College is located at Kottapuram, Kadakkal, Kollam District, Kerala. It is in close proximity to the famous Devi Temple at Kadakkal. It is situated at about 40 Kms from Thiruvanathapurm Railway Station, 40km away from K.S.R.T.C Central Stand and 47 Kms from Thiruvanathapurm International Airport. Also it is connected with Kollam Railway station at a distance of 40 kms. The nearby town is Kadakkal which is at a distance of 3 Kms.
PMSA PTM Arts & Science College was established in the year 2003 as an affiliated college to the University of Kerala by Villoor Educational and Charitable Trust (VECT).
V.E.C.T is an organization committed to the Educational and Philanthropic causes in the Dist of Kollam and especially for the educationally and socially backward Muslim Minority Community.
1. The College is established with the objective of offering University level education in Under Graduate and Post Graduate in different branches such as Literature, Humanities, Science and Technology, Commerce and Management studies.
2. To buildup vital infrastructure for the aspirants of higher quality education, especially those from the weaker and minority sections of the society.
3. To promote research and publication in the relevant area aimed at value based education.
The College was established by Late Haji E. M Abdul Salam, the founder Chairman of the College. He had been a Post graduate in Arabic 5th rank holder from the University of Kerala in the year 1975. Also he was a great visionary whose futuristic view and imagination resulted in imparting quality education to the rural youth of Kadakkal and adjacent places in a disciplined atmosphere.
Today the V.E.C.T is chaired by Mr. Haseen Abdul Salam, (eldest son of founder Chairman) who is engaged in the task of providing vibrant leadership to the overall development of the Institution.
