Sri Maddala Rama Krishnamma, a landlord of Veeravasaram Village donated all his property to promote Education in this Rural area. The Society called S.M.B.T.A.V.& S.N. Degree College Association named in memory of his parents was established to start educational institutions S.M.B.T.A.V.& S.N. Degree College and M.R.K. Polytechnic.
Sri Vardhineedi Satyanarayana the then MLA and founder secretary and Correspondent put all his efforts to acquire Permission to start the Educational institutions in this area. in Response to the strenuous Job done by him the Govt of AP accorded permission Vide Gowns No 86 Ed Dt. 30-1-1981 for the establishment of a degree College and a Polytechnic Consequently was started S.M.EITA. S.N. Degree College in 1981 with first year Degree Courses in B.A., and B.Com and in the following year B.Sc., Course.
Until I 990 the management had run the college with the meagre funds of its own successfully. From the month of April 1990 the college was admitted to grant-in-aid vide G.O.Ms. No.170, dated 12-07-1990. In the same year the college was also included under section 2(F) and 12 (B) of U.G.C Act. The University Grants Commission, New Delhi approved a grant of Rs9.00 lakhs under part I and II for the development of college during the 8th plan period, Rs.9.00 lakhs for the 9th plan period and Rs. 9.71 Lakhs for the 10th plan period.
Sri Vardhineedi Satyanarayana (Babji) B.Com became the Secretary & Correspondent in the year 1998. He has been the Secretary & Correspondent for S.M.B.T.A.V. & S.N. Degree College, MRK Polytechnic and President & Correspondent for V.E.C. Junior College . Under his vast experience and vision, the three colleges compete with themselves and other Colleges in the district to achieve academic excellence. Under his stewardship, our college entered into a new Phase of development Sri Vardhineedi Satyanarayana (Babji) has taken the strenuous Job of introducing a rare course in the technical field and after a great deal of his endeavors he has established an Architecture college in 2015-16 in the name of M.R.K. College of architecture first in its genre in our district.
With all the above facilities the college presents a healthy Academic atmosphere conducive to Excellence in education. The academic success is due to dynamic management, committed staff and disciplined students. The institution is thus poised to secure an honored place in the arena of Higher education.
