St.Thomas College of Nursing, Kattanam is a new chapter in the annals of Higher education of the Marthoma Syrian Church of Malabar. It is one of the teaching institutions attached to St.Thomas Mission Hospital, Kattanam, which is a 200 bedded multispeciality Hospital with history of Nursing Education since 38 years and excel on patient care since 65 years. St.Thomas College of Nursing was established in Aug 2008, aiming at preparing graduate and postgraduate nurses up to doctoral level, who will personally and professionally be competent to meet the challenging needs of the society in all settings.
The institution is recognized and approved by INC, KNMC, Govt of Kerala, University of Kerala, Kerala University of Health Sciences. The new College was dedicated by His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Marthoma Metropolitan on 27 November 2010. College is well equipped with art labs as Foundations of Nursing, Community, Anatomy, Nutrition ,Maternal and Child Health, lecture halls(4), well stocked library with adequate textbooks and national and international journals,internet facilities and other facilities. College posseses qualified and experienced teaching faculty, Librarians and Non- teaching staff. Four batches of B.Sc (N) students are undergoing training. As per the regulations of the above bodies, 50 students per annum are admitted to the course.
