Area of a rectangle is 150 m2 . When the breadth of the same rectangle is increased by 2 m and the length decreased by 5 m, the area of the rectangle decreases by 30 m2. What is the perimeter of the square whose sides are equal to the length of the rectangle

  • 76 m
  • 72 m
  • 120 m
  • 80 m
  • 60 m
  • Explanation:

    Area of rectangle = 150

    l×b= 150                       ....(i)

    According to question,

    lb-(l-5)(b+2) = 30

    lb-lb-2l+5b+10=30

    5b-21=20                        ....(ii)

    By solving questions (i) and (ii) we get,

    l = 15 m

    b = 10 m

    The side of square = l = 15 m

    ∴ Perimeter of square = 4 × 15

    = 60 m
