National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET)

National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) is a national level medical entrance exam held for the aspirants of  MBBS, BDS, and  MD/MS courses in India. It is conducted by the board of Central Board of Secondary Education. NEET has replaced All India Pre Medical test and other exams conducted by the private colleges in India to provide admission to medical colleges. The uneven exams held to admit students for medical education in India has brought the standard of Doctors to a lower level.

To make the platform of medical entrance exam even in the country, Indian government had brought NEET in 2012.But after its  exam in 2012, Supreme Court cancelled it , considering 115 petitions against NEET. Further, petitions on NEET had only increased.Complaints were filed on the medium of exam ,which was conducted only in English And Hindi.After the consideration of the supreme court, NEET exam was conducted in all the nine Indian languages including English.

After all the trials and errors, NEET was conducted in the nation in 2016 and 2017.The 2017 exam was held in 7th May and results were published in 23rd May. Some of the colleges namely the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Post Graduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of post graduate Medical Education, Puducherry conduct their own examinations as they are formed by acts.

NEET Syllabus


Class XI: Physical World and measurement, Laws of Motion, Kinematics, Work, Energy and Power ,Motion of System of particles and rigid body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter , Thermodynamics, Behavior of perfect gas and kinetic theory, Oscillations and Waves.

Class XII: Electrostatics, Current electricity, Magnetic Effects of current and magnetism, electromagnetic induction and alternating currents, electromagnetic waves, Optics, Dual nature of matter and radiation, atoms nuclei, electronic devices.


Class XI: Some basic concepts of chemistry, Structure of an atom, Classification of elements and periodicity in properties ,Chemical; bonding and molecular structure,  States of Matter Gas and Liquids, Thermodynamics, equilibrium, Red Ox reactions ,Hydrogen, S-block elements, P block elements, Organic chemistry, some basic principles and tec hniques, hydro carbons ,environmental chemistry.

Class XII: Solutions, Solid State ,Electro Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry ,General principle and process of isolation of elements p, d and f block elements ,Coordination compounds, Haloalkanes  and Haloarnes ,Alchohols,Phenols and Ethers ,Aldehydes ,Ketones and Carboxylic  acids ,organic compounds containing Nitrogen, Bio Molecules ,polymers ,chemistry in everyday life .


Class XI: Diversity in Living world, Structural organization in animals and plants, cell Structure and plants, Plant physiology, plant physiology, Human physiology.

Class XII: Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and human welfare, Biotechnology and its applications, ecology and environment
