A soft ware engineer is a person who develops a software .The person will also have to test and maintain them once it is developed. They develop and model general computer applications software or any other programs similar. They design soft wares according to the needs of the client which are customized. A software engineer will develop software in various programming language such as java , php , python , ruby ,pearl etc .These are the languages used by the software engineers .They are also good in checking the feasibility of the software programme and can maintain it.
A software engineer will also apply mathematical skills to get the desired outcome from the software. The types of softwares developed by software engineer are operating systems, computer games , pocket softwares , business applications and network control systems. There are two sub divisions in software that is application software and system software.

To be a software engineer one must score a minimum of 60% for their 12th board exam and must have passed the engineering entrance exam.

The starting salary of a software engineer in an It firm is Rs 20,000. If you can get placed in leading IT companies then the starting salary will be Rs40,000-Rs 45,000. After 4- 5 yrs of experience in the field you can even get a higher salary of Rs 65,000-Rs 70,000.
