A brutal civil war is raging between the protesters and supporters of President Bashar Al Assad government since 2011.The protesters dont want  Bashar Al Assad to be the President of the country.

How it all started?

Pro-Democracy protests erupted in March 2011 in the city of Deraa when a group of teenagers wrote revolutionary graffittis on school walls against the government of Bashar Al Assad. The teenagers were arrested by the security forces which created a protest on the streets later.

The protesters took it to the streets where the security forces opened fire on the demonstraters killing four people. It raged the protesters asking the President to resign from power. The President didn't resign and it made the protests more violent.

By June 2013 ,Syria was in brutal civil war.The UN said 90,000 people had been killed in the conflict.By August 2015,the figure had climbed to 2,50,000 according to the activists and the UN.

In 2014 a group known as Islamic State(IS) began to take over large areas under their control. They took advanatage of the civil war and set up their so called caliphates in cities of Syria. Finally both the sides of Syria are now fighting against IS.

Islamic State(IS)tortured and killed people who refused their beliefs. They persecuted christians and yazidis.IS killed thousands of men and women sho disagreed to their views.Islamic State is the largest and the most violent group the world has ever seen.

Islamic State(IS)gets its funds from seized oil fields. They are also involved in robbery, human trafficking, kidnap and ransom, taxes and check points, donations from wealthy individuals from Gulf etc.The terrorists had spread their networks through the internet.Mass recruitments had been done through twitter and facebook radicalizing young men to join their group.

Peace processes are happening in Syria throughout every year. The UN,Arab league and other actors have tried to initiate peace but the efforts were futile.
