Let the speed of the boat upstream = 3x km/h
and the speed of the boat upsteam = 4x km/h
According to question,
Speed of the boat downstream = Distance/Time
4x=70/(7/2)
4x=70×2/7
x=5km/h
∴ Speed of the boat in still water = 1/2 [Upstream
speed + Downstream speed]
=1/2[3x+4x]
=7x/2=35/2
=17.5 km/h
