school fees and 35% on buying school uniform. After the mentioned expenses, Ali had Rs. 2800 remaining
with him. How much did Tom have initially?

Let Tom has the money initially =INR x
Amount received by Ali = x×20/100=INR x/5
Remaining amount to Ali= x/5×40/100=2x/25
According to question,
2x/25=2800
x= INR 35000/-
