Open Guide – Indian Air Force is the air arm of the Indian Air Force. The motto of the Indian Air Force is to ‘Touch the Sky with Glory’. It provides plenty of opportunity to the young men and women of our country. Indian Air Force is the 4th powerful air force in the whole world. Therefore to get selected in the Indian Air Force is something to be proud of for a young candidate. The admission to the Indian Air Force is conducted by the force itself through various entries. Admissions are allowed to both men and women to the IAF under certain conditions.
There are a number of branches in Indian Air Force namely the Aeronautical Engineering branch, the flying branch and the Ground duty Branch (non - technical branch) .Admission to the various branches are done through the AFCAT exam (Air Force Common Admission Test),NCC Special Entry Scheme or through National Defense Academy. Men have more chances in the exams as some of the exams and entries are exclusive to men alone.
Do not lose heart as the Air Force considers men more in the entries. Indian Air Force has now started inducting Women fighter pilots into the army .In the year 2018, IAF will induct 3 Women fighter pilots to the army. Women also have chances in the other branches of Ground Duty (non-technical) branches. All the women of our country must start dreaming about a career in the Indian Air Force.
