A radio Jockey is a person who anchors a show on the radio. Only the person’s voice will be heard through the medium. The Radio Jockey can talk, play and make the listeners think. The RJ can interact with the listeners through the phone and play songs. Apart from entertaining the listeners, RJ can also share emergency and informative news through the medium of Radio.

An RJ can go a long way if he/she is a success among the listeners. The voice of the RJ can be used in film for dubbing. If he or she does well in front of the camera then they will also enter the industry in no time. The doors of the radio jockey is open to different careers such as dubbing, films, anchoring etc .Radio Jockeys have great career prospects when compared to other jobs.
Radio jockeys can take in about Rs 10,000 a month to begin with and end up drawing more than Rs 50,000. Assistant djs may get only a couple of thousands but the returns can be high if the jockey is in demand as a freelancer, as high as Rs 1 lakh
