World Cup 2018: Holders Germany Eliminated From Tournament After Loss To South Korea

2014 World cup football champions Germany crashed out of the World Cup on Wednesday after a stoppage-time VAR-assisted goal from Younggwon Kim and a late second by Son Heungmin earned South Korea a famous 2-0 win. 

India and France to Cooperate on Maritime Awareness Mission

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been appraised of the Implementing Arrangement (IA) for Pre-formulation Studies of a Maritime Domain Awareness Mission signed between India and France on 10th March 2018. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Centre Nationale Dudes Spatiales (CNES), France will jointly undertake various activities during these pre-formulation studies and present the pre-formulation concept study results to the respective senior management for review within one year of its signing.

Cabinet approves establishment of additional 6.5MMT Strategic Petroleum Reserves at Chandikhol in Odisha and at Padur, Karnataka

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved establishment of additional 6.5 Million Metric Tonne (MMT) Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) facilities at two locations, i.e. Chandikhol in Odisha and Padur in Karnataka, including construction of dedicated SPMs (Single Point Mooring) for the two SPRs. The SPR facilities at Chandikhol and Padur will be underground rock caverns and will have capacities of 4 MMT and 2.5 MMT respectively.

President launches Solar Charkha Mission, recruitment portal for MSMEs

President Ram Nath Kovind today launched the Solar Charkha Mission covering artisans in 50 identified clusters and the Sampark portal -- a digital platform to connect five lakh job seekers with recruiters -- at an event to mark the important economic role played by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

India votes against draft decision on chemical weapons use at OPCW meet

India has voted against the draft decision on addressing the threat from chemical weapons use at a special conference of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) here, citing "incomplete consultations".
