  • Defence Minister Inaugurates Information Fusion Centre in Gurugram

    Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the Indian Navy's Information Fusion Centre (IFC) in Gurugram that aims to collaborate with partner countries and multi-national agencies to develop maritime awareness and share information on vessels.
    The IFC has been established at the Navy's Information Management and Analysis Centre (IMAC) at Gurugram which is the single point centre interlinking all the coastal radar chains to generate a seamless real-time picture of the nearly 7,500-km long coastline.

    The Twitter handles is aimed at enhancing people’s basic knowledge about cybercrimes and precautions to be taken for prevention.

  • Shakti : India's First Indigenous Microprocessor Created By IIT-Madras 

    India’s first indigenous microprocessor may soon power your mobile phones, surveillance cameras and smart meters.
    ‘Shakti’, designed, developed and booted by Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and with a microchip fabricated in the Semi-Conductor Laboratory of Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) at Chandigarh, will reduce dependency on imported microchips and the risk of cyber attacks making it ideal for communication and defence sectors.

  • Google Releases 'Android 9 Pie' 

    Google has announced that the final, shipping version of the newest Android update is available for all Pixel phones today. And, as usual, it has announced a name to go along with the over-the-air update: “Android 9 Pie.”

    Android 9 Pie’s headline features are the same ones that we revealed back in May: a “Digital Wellbeing” dashboard, a new gesture-based navigation system, and other AI-enhanced improvements to the UI. It also received many subtle improvements to the overall look of the software, including a new status bar that’s designed to work better with notches.

  • Health Ministry Signs MoU With Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology 
    National Health Agency (NHA) under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the apex body for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM), and Common Service Centres (CSC) scheme under the Digital India Programme, have signed an MoU to provide information and eligibility validation services to beneficiaries, especially in remote areas.

    HCL Technologies has toppled Wipro to become the third-largest software services company in India in terms of dollar revenue, clocking a top line of $2.05 billion during the June quarter.

    The IT services revenue of Wipro during the same quarter was $2.02 billion.

  • BSNL launches India’s first internet telephony service, to enable making calls without SIM

    State-run telecom firm BSNL on Wednesday unveiled the country’s first internet telephony service that will allow users to dial any telephone number in India through its mobile app.

    Now BSNL customers will be able to make calls using the company’s mobile app “Wings” to any phone number in the country.

  • Samsung opens world's largest mobile factory in Noida, aims to boost smartphone production in India

    Samsung opens the world's largest mobile factory in Noida, India. The factory plot which is of 35-acre, is situated at Sector 81 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae will be officially inaugurating the Samsung Electronics factory on Monday. By opening the new factory, Samsung India aims to increase its overall production to 50 per cent in the next three years, which is currently at 10 per cent.

  • Gaming addiction has been declared as mental health disorder by WHO.

    The WHO’s latest reference bible of recognised and diagnosable diseases describes addiction to digital and video gaming as “a pattern of persistent or recurrent gaming behaviour” that becomes so extensive that it “takes precedence over other life interests”.
