  • Kalyani JV gets missile kits order

    A joint venture of a Kalyani group firm and Israel’s Rafael Advanced Systems has secured a $100 million contract for manufacturing 1,000 Barak-8 MRSAM missile kits.

    Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems (KRAS), the joint venture, in which the Indian partner’s holding is 51% and the rest is with Rafael, will manufacture the kits at its production facility near Hyderabad and supply them to Bharat Dynamics for further integration. Eventually, the product will be used by the Indian Army and the Air Force.

  • India hands over pre-fabricated houses to Myanmar

    India handed over 250 pre-fabricated houses to Myanmar in Maung Daw today for use of displaced returnees. 

    External Affairs Ministry said in a release that India had taken up the project under its Rakhine State Development Programme under which 25 million dollars are allocated for a period of five years. 

    Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Saurabh Kumar handed over the documents related to the houses for use of displaced returnees from Bangladesh.

  • BCC signs MoU with BRICS chamber to promote trade

    The Bharat Chamber of Commerce, (BCC) and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi, signed an MoU on Tuesday for promoting trade and investments between the BRICS countries and the eastern part of India, in particular.

    Members of the BRICS are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

  • Defence Ministry signs MoU with IPFC and NRDC

    Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell (IPFC), Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence and National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), Ministry of Science and Technology, yesterday signed an MoU with a vision to bridge the capacity shortfall and provide a major fillip to the ongoing efforts of Ministry of Defence towards promoting a culture of Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights IPR in Indian Defence industry. 

    The move will be a boost to the Mission Raksha Gyan Shakti. It may be recalled that Mission Raksha Gyan Shakti was launched with the aim to inculcate IP culture in Indian defence manufacturing ecosystem. 

  • Prasar Bharati and IIT Kanpur signs MoU for research collaboration

    Prasar Bharati and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur today signed a Memorandum of Understanding for research collaboration in newly emerging technologies and broadcasting-related areas in New Delhi. 

    The move is likely to boost research activities in the broadcasting field. Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati Shashi Shekhar Vempati and Director, IIT Kanpur Abhay Karandikar were present at this juncture.

    Direct to mobile broadcasting, Convergence of 5G, Artificial Intelligence Incubation Centre by Prasar Bharati and student internship for students of IIT, Kanpur at Prasar Bharati are among the main areas in the research collaboration.

  • VNL signs pact with Vietnam to develop digital villages

    Telecom equipment and solutions provider Vihaan Networks Ltd (VNL) has inked a pact with Vietnam to offer solutions for advancing rural connectivity by developing digital villages in Vietnam’s underserved areas, the company said.

    A visiting delegation, led by Phan Xuan Dung, MP, Chairman of Committee on Science, Technology and Environmental Affairs, Vietnam, expressed interest in connecting unserved and underserved remote villages in Vietnam through solar-based cellular and broadband solution — a similar model developed by VNL in Karenda, a village in Rajasthan, situated 80 km from Delhi.

  • NHAI and NIIF Signs MoU for funding highway projects

    National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed an MoU with the central government-promoted National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) to secure funding for large-sized projects, including highways.

    “The MoU is related to co-operation in formation of SPVs to execute the fund arrangement for large size road projects particularly green field projects to be executed by NHAI in future.”

  • Cabinet approves India-Maldives MoU for passenger, cargo services

    The Union Cabinet Wednesday gave ex-post facto approval for the pact signed between India and Maldives to start passenger and cargo services via sea route.

    The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between India and Maldives on June 8, during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the island country.

  • CCMB and CDFD sign MoU to improve genetic disease diagnostics

    A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) on Wednesday here with an aim to enable better ways of diagnosis and treatment of genetic disorders.

    The objectives of the MoU also include the provision of quality DNA based diagnostic services to the public at lower costs, to develop newer diagnostic methods and to engage in scientific research to improve understanding of human genetic disorders.

  • Reliance Jio ties up with Facebook for 'Digital Udaan'

    Reliance Jio on Wednesday announced a digital literacy initiative for the first-time Internet users in the country.

    As part of the "Digital Udaan" initiative in collaboration with Facebook, Jio will engage with its users every Saturday to help them learn about JioPhone features, use of various apps and Internet safety including use of Facebook.

    To begin with, the programme is being launched in nearly 200 different locations across 13 states.
