  • BioAsia Summit 2020 begins in Hyderabad

    The Government of Telangana hosting Bio-Asia Summit 2020 in Hyderabad between February 17, 2020, and February 19, 2020. The main objective of the summit is to explore the capabilities of Life Science Companies and their investments. The theme of the Summit is Theme: Today for Tomorrow.

    The summit will be attended by researchers, investors, conglomerates, start-ups and health care representatives. They will focus on the needs of the evolving Life Science industry.

  • IFAD Governing Council 2020 held in Rome, Italy

    The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) 43rd Governing Council meeting was held in Rome, Italy. The 43rd sessions will focus on the overarching theme “Investing in sustainable food systems to end hunger by 2030″. The theme highlights how IFAD’s role and experience in supporting sustainable, inclusive, nutritious and efficient food systems uniquely place it in a position to contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG2).

    During the meet, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) stated that the sequences of climate change and its impacts on agriculture will push around 100 million people to poverty by 2030.

  • Mumbai will host “Disaster Risk Financing, Insurance and Risk Transfer” Workshop

    National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) will organize the “National Workshop on Disaster Risk Financing, Insurance and Risk Transfer” in partnership with Insurance Institute of India. The workshop will be held in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

    The National Workshop on Disaster Risk Financing, Insurance and Risk Transfer will concentrate on the significance of financial resilience in areas frequently struck by natural disasters. It will also stress on the government’s agenda “Work towards risk coverage for all-starting from poor households to SMEs to multi-national corporations to nation states” and “Investing in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for Resilience“. The workshop will also deliberate on the issues in assessment of insurance faced by different stakeholders.

    The delegates from Asian Development Bank, World Bank, United Nations Development Programme along with other multilateral organizations will participate in the workshop.

  • NSG organises 20th International Seminar against terrorsim at Manesar, Haryana

    “Comprehends the Evolving Contours of Terrorism & IED Threat-Wayahead for the Security Community” at Manesar, Haryana. The seminar was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy. Senior Police and security officers, and delegates from various countries are participating in the Seminar. A wide spectrum of Counter Terrorism and Counter-IED issues in wil be covered in the two-day seminar.

    During the seminar, the MoS for Home Affairs appealed to the Global community to join hands to form a united front against the common enemy i.e. terrorism. He also emphasized the importance of improving the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detection and to enhance our capabilities to prevent such attacks. He also presented the Counter-IED Innovators awards and released the 30th volume of “The Bomshell”.

  • National Water Conference held in Madhya Pradesh

    National Water Conference was held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The Conference was inaugurated by Chief Minister Kamal Nath. The importance and revival of traditional water sources, right to water, river rejuvenation campaign in Madhya Pradesh and many other related topics are being discussed during the four sessions of the conference. The experts discussed that water conservation technological development should be included with traditional means to solve the growing water crisis.

  • Kerala to host global meet on climate change, ocean health

    ClimFishCon 2020, an international conference on the impact of climate change on ‘hydrological cycle, ecosystem, fisheries and food security’ will begin in Kerala on 12 February.

    More than 300 delegates from 12 countries including scientists, researchers, administrators, policymakers, academicians, and entrepreneurs will participate in the event. Fishers, aqua farmers, students and other stakeholders will also attend. The conference is organised jointly by the CUSAT School of Industrial Fisheries and the Department of Fisheries, Kerala.

  • ‘Engiexpo 2020’ to be held in Vadodara, Gujarat

    The 6th edition of the mega industrial exhibition ‘Engiexpo 2020’ is being organised in Vadodara, Gujarat from February 15 to 17, 2020. The three-day mega exhibition will be organised by the Federation of Small Scale Industries (FSSI), to promote ‘Made in India’ products. Over 10,000 industrial products will be showcased in more than 300 stalls. Several companies from Uzbekistan are also participating in the exhibition.

  • Mumbai hosts National Conference on E-Governance

    National Conference on e-Governance 2020 was held in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Mumbai Declaration was adopted on the concluding day of the National Conference on e-Governance. The theme of the conference is: India 2020: Digital Transformation. The National e-Governance Awards 2020 were also presented during the conference.

    The National Conference on E-Governance was organised jointly by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India and Department of Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra.

    In the National Conference on e-Governance 2020, use of digital technologies in transforming the governance was discussed along the issues, opportunities and challenges faced during this transformation process. During the conference, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh stated that the e-Governance is very essential to achieve good governance.

  • 33rd African Union (AU) summit held in Ethiopia

    The 33rd edition of the African Union (AU) summit was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The 33rd edition of the African Union (AU) summit was held with the theme “Silencing the Guns: Creating conducive conditions for Africa’s development“.

    Heads of the states and the government officials from across Africa gathered in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa and focused on ways to end the regional violence, including the conflicts in South Sudan and Libya.

  • 5th Dhaka Art Summit inaugurated in Bangladesh

    The fifth edition of the biennial art extravaganza of Bangladesh,  Dhaka Art Summit was inaugurated by State Minister for Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh K M Khalid yesterday. Varied art-forms including live performance, photography and painting will be brought together during the festival which will continue upto 15th February.

    More than 500 artists, sculptors, architects and art professionals from various countries are participating in the Summit. The Summit will also featuring live events, panel discussions and puppet shows among other things.

    This year's programmes also include a special exhibition on the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to pay tribute to Bangabandhu on the occasion of his birth centenary. Dhaka Art Summit is the premier art festival of Bangladesh.
