India-Central Virtual Asia Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the first-ever India-Central Asia Summit virtually on January 27, 2022. The summit saw in attendance the presidents of five central Asian nations including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic. The leaders adopted a joint declaration that focused on enhancing trade and connectivity between India and central Asian nations and also agreed to set up a joint working group on Afghanistan at the senior officials' level.
PM Modi to address National Agro Summit on Dec 16 with focus on Natural Farming
Prime Minister Modi will address the farmers virtually on December 16, 2021, at a valedictory function of an agro-event which will be organized by the Government of Gujarat. During the National Summit on Agro and Food Processing, contours of natural farming will be presented. The three-day National Summit has kick-started from December 14.
The Union Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal while informing about the event said that the National Agro Summit is the very first initiative where natural farming is one of the major focus. He also announced that a committee to set up in the near future to look into the demands of the protesting farmers will also discuss the promotion of natural farming.
Prime Minister Modi will virtually address the National Summit on Agro while the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani, and others will be present during the National Summit on Agro and Food Processing.
India to host NSA-level regional conference on Afghanistan on November 10
India will be hosting national security advisor (NSA) level regional conference on Afghanistan in New Delhi on November 10, 2021. The National Security Advisory of India, Ajit Doval will chair the meeting.
As per sources, Russia, Iran, and central Asian countries have already confirmed their participation in th regional conference.
PM Modi launches Green Grids Initiative – One Sun One World One Grid at COP26 Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 2, 2021, launched the Green Grids Initiative – One Sun One World One Grid (GGI-OSOWOG) initiative jointly with his UK counterpart Boris Johnson at the event ‘Accelerating Clean Technology Innovation and Deployment’ at COP26 Climate Summit at Glasgow. In May 2021, India and the UK had agreed to combine the Green Grids Initiative and the One Sun One World One Grid and jointly launch GGI-OSOWOG at the COP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow in November 2021.

Hyderabad hosts “Wings India 2020”
Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airports Authority of India (AAI) along with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing “Wings India 2020” event at Hyderabad, Telangana. “Wings India 2020” is a civil aviation business exhibition and air show which is organized once in every two years.
The “Wings India 2020” business exhibition will feature the participation of aviation majors including Airbus, Boeing and others in the Business to Business and Business to Government meetings taking place during the event. The business exhibition will also feature the dazzling aerobatics twice a day, to be performed by two teams namely “Sarang”, the helicopter aerobatics team of Indian Air Force and “Global Stars” of British pilots on fixed wing aircrafts. About 1000 delegates from worldwide, are expected to participate in the event.
Pune to host 108th Indian Science Congress in 2021
Pune will host the 108th Indian Science Congress in January 2021, the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) has announced. This will be the fourth time that the city will host the prestigious meet in the last 100 years.
The event, set to be held at Symbiosis International University’s Lavale campus between January 3 and 7 next year, will be themed on ‘Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment’ and focus on economic growth, environmental protection and social inclusion of all communities using science and technology. It will also see deliberations on providing equal opportunities to women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), while achieving sustainable development.
19th World Productivity Congress 2020 to be held in Bengaluru
The 19th edition of World Productivity Congress (WPC) will be held from May 6 to May 8, 2020, in Bengaluru, Karnataka. World Productivity Congress is the world’s largest convention for productivity development that shape future productivity growth.
The theme of 19th World Productivity Congress is “Industry 4.0: Innovation and Productivity”. The theme represents the Fourth Industrial Revolution that amalgamates the capabilities of humans and machines. India is hosting the conference after a gap of 45 years. Before this, the country hosted the WPC in the year 1974.
New Delhi hosts 11th National Krishi Vigyan Kendra Conference 2020
The 11th National Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Conference 2020 on ‘Empowering Youth for Technology Led Farming’ has been inaugurated in New Delhi. The conference was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar. A number of Krishi Vigyan Kendra publications and various products developed by the Krishi Vigyan Kendras were also released during the conference. The conference was organized by Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
The conference aimed to highlight the technology-led farming and youth entrepreneurship via agriculture. It also stressed upon the support from agricultural scientists to the marginalised farmers.
