Heena Sidhu wins gold medal at Commonwealth Shooting Championships

Indian shooter Heena Sidhu has won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships for 10 m airpistol.The championships were held at Brisbane ,Australia.

Indian bowler Bumrah rises to top for ICC T20 rankings

Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah has climbed to the top spot for the ICC bowler rankings.Pakisthan bowler Imad Wasim secures the second place.

India Japan begin Anti-Submarine Drill 

The navies of India and Japan has started their anti submarine drill in the Indian ocean waters.Indian Navy's two P-8 I long-range maritime reconnaissance anti-submarine warfare aircraft and two P-3C Orion jets of the Japanese Navy will be part of the exercise.

India send its first wheat shipment through Chabhar Port 

India sends its first consignment of wheat to Afghanistan through the Chabahar port in Iran.The shipment was flagged off from the Kandla port in Gujarat with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani through  video conferencing.

The union government has approved Rs 7000 cr  for the construction of 6 new IIT campuses.The six new IITs will be constructed at Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Palakkad (Kerala), Dharwad (Karnataka), Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), Bhilai (Chhattisgarh) and Goa.
