45% of country's bird species in Himachal Pradesh

About 45 percent of country's total bird spices were reported in Himachal Pradesh during Great Backyard Bird Count (GGBC) 2017 in the state.As per eBird data, as many as 564 bird species, nearly 45 percent of the 1,263 Indian bird species, were reported from Himachal during the 4-day bird count from February 17 to 20.

Government launches first ever across-the-river survey to figure out aquatic life

The Union Government has launched the first ever across-the-river survey in River Ganga to determine the population of aquatic life, including that of the endangered Gangetic doplhin.
