World Biodiversity Day Observed

World Biodiversity Day is observed on May 22 every year taking guidelines to protect our rich biodiversity.The theme for this year's biodiversity is Biodiversity and Sustainable tourism .The UN also has declared 2011-20 as the decade on Bio-diversity to promote the conservation of the required.

Madhya Pradesh bans sand mining of River Narmada

Madhya Pradesh has banned sand mining of River Narmada untill a committe can arrive at a recommendation of how much sand can be mined .The committee headed by Rajendra Sukla will decide on the issue .The government has also put a complete ban on sand mining from the remaining rivers of the state.
