Lok Sabha Passes NCTE Amendment Bill, More Education Programmes To Get Recognision

The lower house of the Parliament today passed a bill to amend the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Act seeking to provide post-facto approval to those approved institutions which are funded by the Centre or states, but do not have recognition under the 1993 law. Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar said the legislation has been brought for the benefit of the students who have appeared for B.Ed, M.Ed and various other exams, but their institutes are not recognised.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0... 

The HRD ministry Thursday launched the second edition of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan under which students from 750 higher educational institutions from across the country will adopt villages and visit them to get acquainted with lifestyle of people there and the problems faced by them. The minister advised the students to involve local village people at every stage of problem identification and solving issues relating to health, cleanliness, waste management, plantation, financial inclusion, women and child development.
