  • Arunachal Pradesh assembly implements e-Vidhan project

    The Arunachal Pradesh Assembly went paperless with the implementation of e-Vidhan, a project under the Digital India programme. With the implementation of the e-Vidhan project, MLAs can access every information regarding the Assembly, see the list of business and read questions and other documents pertaining to House proceedings through their laptops and tablet computers. The initiative will make all the proceedings in the house paperless.

    The Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is the unicameral state legislature of Arunachal Pradesh state in north-eastern India.  The Legislative Assembly comprises 60 Members of Legislative Assembly directly elected from single-seat constituencies.

  • Antar Rashtriya Yog Mahotsav begins in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand

    Antar Rashtriya Yog Mahotsav has been inaugurated in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Yoga teachers and practitioners from eleven countries are taking part in this week-long event. The ‘Yog Mahotsav’ is held in Rishikesh every year from March 1 to March 7.

  • Union declares National Chambal Sanctuary as eco-sensitive zone

    The government of India declared the National Chambal Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh as an eco-sensitive zone (ESZ). The Sanctuary is the home of Gangetic dolphins and 75 per cent population of critically endangered species gharial. It also harbours 180 species of migratory birds and freshwater Gangetic Dolphins.

    Being declared as Eco-Sensitive Zone, construction of resorts, hotels or other residential and industrial activities are prohibited. The Sanctuary begins in the Vindhyan Ranges, extends along the Chambal river and ends in Yamuna river. It is spread across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

  • Jammu historic city square renamed as ‘Bharat Mata Chowk’

    The historic City Chowk in old Jammu was renamed as ‘Bharat Mata Chowk’. A resolution in this regard was passed by the General house of the BJP(Bharatiya Janata Party)-led Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), after which it was done.

    Every year people are hoisting the tricolour on Republic and Independence days in this chowk. Along with this, the starting point of the circular road near Panjtirthi in the city has also been changed to ‘Atal Ji Chowk’ in the memory of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

  • Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela-2020 held in New Delhi

    The Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela-2020 was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in New Delhi.

    The Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela featured the demonstration of Rabi crops, protected cultivation of flowers and vegetables, display and sale of farm equipments developed by ICAR-IARI and other Institutes and private companies. It also featured the sale of seeds and plants of improved varieties along with free testing of soil and water samples. The participating farmers as well as the visitors of the mela will be facilitated with the free health check-up during the occasion.

  • Om Birla launches ‘Suposhit Maa Abhiyaan’ in Kota

    Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has launched “Suposhit Maa Abhiyan” in his constituency Kota, Rajasthan. This Abhiyan is to provide nutritional support to pregnant women and adolescent girls.

    Om Birla appealed to every section of the society to cooperate in the malnutrition-free India campaign. Under this Abhiyan, 1,000 pregnant women would be given food items for one month. At the same time, the health of the child, including medical examination, blood tests, medicines, delivery, would be covered. It is a campaign to preserve and maintain the health of our future generations.

  • Chilli Festival begins in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh

    In Madhya Pradesh unique Chilli Festival begins at Kasrawad in Khargone district. Chilli Festival is a big business opportunity for traders, investors and exporters. It will also help in fulfilling the Central Government’s goal of doubling the income of farmers.

    Chilli-based cuisine stalls will also be set up on the occasion. Thousands of farmers from many districts of the state are participating in this festival being held in Kasrawad in Khargone district. State Agriculture Minister Sachin Yadav has said that the festival aims to promote the Nimari brand of chillies.

    Nimar and Malwa regions are the highest chilli producing regions of the state. The red chillies of these regions are exported to China, Pakistan, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. This year too, 5 lakh 41 thousand 740 MT of green chillies and more than 63 thousand MT of red chillies have been produced in Dhar district.

  • Training of Nepal’s Judicial Officers begins in India

    The first batch of 30 Judicial Officers from Supreme Court of Nepal have started their 7 day training on ‘Case Management and Court Management’ at the National Law University, Jodhpur in Rajasthan from Monday.

    This is a tailor-made course specially designed at the request of Government of Nepal. The course will enhance capacity of participating officers to effectively deal with issues related to Case and Court management and use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the administration of Justice.  

    Second batch of 30 Judicial Officers from Nepal’s Supreme will undergo training from March 23 to 29, 2020. This is a tailor-made course specially designed at the request of Government of Nepal.

    The course is fully supported by the Government of India under Ministry of External Affairs’ Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme. As part of India’s continuing commitment for capacity building in Nepal, the Embassy of India in the current financial year has facilitated training of more than 200 Nepali officers in India’s prestigious training institutions like IIT-Roorkee; Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar; Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun; Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi and Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru etc.

  • Indian Railways launches its 1st ”Restaurant On Wheels”

    Indian Railways has launched its first ”Restaurant on Wheels” at the circulating area of Asansol railway station, West Bengal. This restaurant is for the use of passengers as well as the general public. The Restaurant on Wheels was developed by refurbishing two over-aged MEMU coaches.

    This unique effort will not only improve the facilities at Asansol station but will also generate non-fare revenue earnings approximately Rs 50 lakh in the next five years. Union Minister and Asansol MP Babul Supriyo inaugurated the restaurant. He also inaugurated two new air-conditioned Retiring Rooms and Electronic Reservation Chart Display System and a battery-operated car at Asansol station.

    Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers has organized “ACREX India 2020” at India Expo Mart Limited, Greater Noida. “ACREX India 2020” is largest exhibition of South Asia on Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Industry. This was the 21st edition of the exhibition which was witnessed by visitors from over 25 countries. The 21st edition of the exhibition focuses on indoor air quality, sustainable buildings and HVAC technology. The exhibition also acted as a valuable stage for all players which are connected to the HVAC industry.

    A live exhibit titled “Shudh Vaayu Deergh Aayu” (Trans: Clean air, Long life) was also exhibited with regard to indoor air quality and clean air.

    ISHRAE has also instituted “ACREX Hall of Fame” which will act as a benchmark for industry to honour iconic projects in India.
