Ansar Women’s College is a self-financing Post Graduate College affiliated to the University of Calicut, which is run by Ansari Charitable Trust, Perumpilavu.

Christ College was started in 1956, by the Devamatha Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), an indigenous religious congregation founded in 1831 by Saint Cyriac Elias , A Religious Priest and versatile genius , who envisioned education as a tool for liberation and development.

The college was started in 1972 as a second grade college with just two Pre-degree batches-[Group III [Humanities] and 1V[Commerce] and started functioning in a building of the Director of Public Instruction at Down Hill, Malappuram which continued till it was shifted to the present site in 1981. The realization of the college is due to Janab C. H. Mohammed Koya, the then minister for Education, Government of Kerala, whose dedication, involvement and enthusiasm primarily contributed for it.

In Christ Nagar College, along with imparting knowledge, the students are encouraged to emulate the principles of austerity, discipline and truthfulness which have been practised by Saint Chavara Kuriakose Elias the inspiration behind the setting up of all the CMI Institutions. To encourage various talents of the students and to inculcate leadership qualities, we have an Arts Club, Sports Club and Department Associations.
