Kalkunnel Mar Gee Varghese Sahada Church, Kottappady initiated the idea of starting a higher education institution in the village. It was materialized by starting this Mar Elias College, Kottappady in the year 2006.

St. Paul’s College functions under the management of the Archdiocese of Verapoly and is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and the U.G.C.
