The institution was founded and established in the year 2001 by Valluvar Educational Trust with a vision to provide employment oriented education to the student community, especially from rural areas, and to enhance/uplift their economic and social status. With consistent efficiency and efforts, we have been recognized as one of the best educational institutions in Karur District.

Kongu College of Arts and Science, is the first Self-Finance Co-Education College in this historical Karur Town. It started its educaitonal service in 1997 with 60+ students in 5 Undergraduate course. Now we are the poineer in providing quality education in our town for 2000+ students in 11 Undergraduate , 8 Postgraduate and 3 Research Programs. It is funded and run by Kongu Educational Trust, which initiated its service in 1995.
