Mandapeta is a small, semi-rural town of East Godavari District, the rice bowl of Andhra Pradesh. More than 80% of the populations are farmers, both big and small and agricultural workers. The place is surrounded by lush green rice fields and luxuriant vegetation. It is also a bustling commercial centre for clusters of surrounding villages. It is developing into a bio-industrial hub with a number of animal husbandry, poultry and agri-based units coming up around it.
