St. Albert’s College, Ernakulam is an offshoot of St. Albert’s High School, which was established in 1892 by His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Leonardo Mellano, Archbishop of Verapoly. The School was upgraded to a 2nd Grade College in 1946 affiliated to University of Madras. Thus the Institution is having more than a century old tradition of building up students of the communities with a special focus on the less-privileged ones.

St. Berchmans Autonomous College is the first higher education institution of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry. This institution was founded in 1922 by Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry, Bishop of Changanassery diocese.

The CMS College endeavours to live up to its motto Thy Word is Truth which inspired the founding fathers of the college to enlighten the populace of this region two centuries ago. The emblem of the college is a translation of the motto. The vision, mission and objectives are established accordingly.
