Kizhoor is a remote village adjacent to Kunnamkulam town, in Thrissur District. The long cherished dream of the local people to have a centre of Higher Education in Kizhoor became a reality on 30-09-1981 with the foundation of Sree Vivekananda College.

M.E.S Asmabi College, a premier educational institution managed by the Muslim Educational Society (Regd.) Calicut, owes its existence to the remarkable foresight and unremitting zeal of the late Dr. P.K.Abdul Gafoor, the late P.K. Abdulla and late Dr. A.K Siddiq Karikulam Azhikode.

M.E.S. College, Erumely is the first unaided Arts & Science Degree college established in 1995 under the Muslim Educational Society. It is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University . The keynote objective of this Institution is to impart job oriented degree courses to the students in the socially and economically backward areas around Erumely so as to enable them to cope with scientific and technological advancement of contemporary society.
