St. Josephs College, Irinjalakuda is a college for women, affiliated to the University of Calicut and managed by St. Josephs Educational Society of the Congregation of Holy Family.

Established in the year 1956, the college St. Josephs College, popularly known as Devagiri College envisioned by the C.M.I Congregation, is a Christian minority institution and was formally inaugurated by the then Governor of Madras.

Catholicate College owes its existence to the innate vision of the greatly lamented H.H Baselios Geevarghesse II, the Catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Church and H.G. Puthencavil Geevarghese Mar Philoxenos, the then Metropolitan of Thumpamon Diocese. The college had the prayerful guidance of H.G.Daniel Mar Philoxenos, the first principal of the college, and who later became the Metropolitan of Thumpamon Diocese. Recently the college has celebrated its Diamond Jubilee.

The Cochin College was founded on July 15, 1967, in response to an increasing demand for higher education opportunities in West Kochi.
