Mar Thoma College for Women, situated in the municipal area of Perumbavoor, is the dream child of the late Thomas Mar Athanasius Suffragon Metropolitian of the Mar Thoma Church. Ettumanoorappan College is a self-financing co-educational College affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The Founder President of the college is Late Mr. N Ramakrishna Pillai (Retd. Headmaster). It was established in 1995 and is owned by Ettumanoor Education Society, which is registered under the Charitable Societies Act 1985.

The CMS College endeavours to live up to its motto Thy Word is Truth which inspired the founding fathers of the college to enlighten the populace of this region two centuries ago. The emblem of the college is a translation of the motto. The vision, mission and objectives are established accordingly.
