MAHARAJA MADAKARINAYAKA FIRST GRADE COLLEGE FOR ARTS & COMMERCE has been established under the able leadership and guidance of founder Sri. D Borappaji in the historically rich but economically and socially backward chitradurga region in 1984. Initially the college was affiliated to Mysore University then to kuvempu university. Now it is affiliated to Davangere University.

The College with 70 years of standing is the first and the only NAAC Accredited Government institution to be accorded “A” Grade. Besides great concern for equity and accessibility, the College has deep commitment toquality.

Hasanath College for Women, a premier educational institution established in the year 1973 and affiliated to Bangalore University has received recognition from the Government of Karnataka and University Grants Commission, New Delhi, offers graduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Management and Computer Applications in addition to Vocational and Job oriented Courses. Further the college offers Post-Graduate Course in Commerce (M.Com).

This Arabic saying rightly fits into the life and activities of such great men, who joined hands to establish an organization called Sadar Anjuman-e-Musalmanane Mysore and Bangalore in April 1904. In 1909, the Association was registered with the new name Central Muslim Association of Karnataka.

Govt. Arts and Science College, Kondotty, started in 2013 as per GO.(m.s) No.565/13/H.E.D dt:17/08/2013 is located in a remote village called Vilayil which is about 12 KMs away from Kondotty town and 15 KMs far from the Calicut International Airport.

The college was started in 1972 as a second grade college with just two Pre-degree batches-[Group III [Humanities] and 1V[Commerce] and started functioning in a building of the Director of Public Instruction at Down Hill, Malappuram which continued till it was shifted to the present site in 1981. The realization of the college is due to Janab C. H. Mohammed Koya, the then minister for Education, Government of Kerala, whose dedication, involvement and enthusiasm primarily contributed for it.
