With the combined effort of UGC ,Government of Tamilnadu and Bharathidasan University, Bharathidasan University Model College (co-education) was started at Aranthangi on 22nd September 2010, The college is mainly meant for rural area and educational backward students . It was started with strength of 166 students enrolled in 3 courses with 11teaching and 5 non-teaching staff under its roof.
